Chris de Burgh - Footsteps-Tour 2009

Chris de Burgh’s new tourdates for his ‘Footsteps’-tour were announced in October 2008. I was very happy to get to know that he would give concerts in Liverpool and Manchester (and of course in some other english cities) – and even as I always had said I’d love to see him singing in the Royal Albert Hall in London – I of course prefered Liverpool! He gave me a reason to spend a long weekend in my favourite-city again. Even some of my german friends and CdeB-fans will come to Liverpool. It seems like I'll have to play the city-guide. I’m really looking forward to the end of April 2009!

A short time after we had bought our UK-tickets the german tourdates were announced. Because there were some problems with ticket-touts when the ticket-sale in England started CdeB’s management had organized everything much better for the ticket-sale of the german tour. Thanks to the management, to Astrid (the website-manager of The official Chris de Burgh website) and thanks to eventim there started a fan-ticket-presale already 3 days before the official ticket sale – at the 18th of November!

Buying tickets never before went as well as it did this time! All the front rows were offered – and not every 2nd row or only seats from row 5 onwards or so – which we had already the year before. We could choose all seats via a seating-plan (if we had installed Java on our computer). The only problem was, that I still was VERY excited at 9.00 a. m. that Tuesday-morning. Usually I have to work on Tuesdays at 9.00 a. m., but I had told my boss that there would be an emergency, I could only come after having bought all the CdeB-tickets I would need for the german tour in May/June. Ok - no problem! Boss and colleagues could of course understand this. They already know me for some years….! Short before 9.00 a. m. I reduced the loudness of the (online-)radio (in spite of my favourite presenter being on air.), I wrote one last e-mail to Nicole to wish her good luck - which she did at the same time to me - great minds think alike. My fingers were cold and I was even nearly trembling a bit! Wonderful conditions..!!

Then it was 9.00 a. m. and I tried the eventim-link via cdeb.com - but nothing happened. I entered 'Chris de Burgh' - but no results were found. I dialled the telephone-number and was prepared to tell them the secret password - and I even got a spare line. I had to hold the line, which I was willing to do. I 'only' wanted to activate the loudspeaker of the phone, so that I would have my hands free to go on trying to open the eventim-link! BUT - as excited as I was I shut down the phone instead of pressing "speakers"!!!! Grrrr! Unbelievable! At my next trials I didn't get any free line anymore. - only after about 10 or more trials. This time I held the line and listened with the loudspeakers. The comments of my husband, who had a day off and witnessed all my chaotic efforts also were not really helpful: "Do you now also have to pay for the telephone-call?" Grrrrr! But meanwhile the eventim link worked. I did not log in at the community-website, so I didn't even see that Astrid had given the correct link which worked at 9.14 a. m. I don't know how, but my link suddenly also worked. Everything was so strange that morning...! Meanwhile Nicole had e-mailed me that she had got 2 Münster-tickets for us, which she had ordered by phone. I was sooo nervous!! I opened the seating plan for the Bochum-concert and only saw "row 1" - I did not even wonder why there were still so much spare seats in row 1 - and I immediately bought 3 of them. Then I checked Bonn, where I found a good seat in row 3 at the aisle. Very good! I ordered them all and sent the affirmation to everybody who was involved. Then I quickly drove to work - only ½ hour later than usually.

BUT 2 hours later my phone rang. Kerstin had read the affirmation carefully and asked me, if I was aware, that I had not bought front-row tickets in front of the stage for the Bochum-concert...!!!!! NO, I WASN'T AWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had made a fatal mistake - and I can not explain how it could happen that I was so daft, blind, stupid!!!!!! I had not looked carefully enough, I had not seen the 8 rows Parkett in front of Tribüne!!!! Aaaaaaaaaaah!!! I can tell you, I was not really able to work properly anymore that morning... ! Kerstin ordered 3 new tickets in row 3 Parkett for us, because we did not know how the RuhrCongress would look like from the inside - if Tribüne would be somewhere high up - with no possibility to reach the stage etc.

So now we are proud owners of 3 row 3 tickets (Parkett) + 3 VERY GOOD Tribüne-tickets. Meanwhile I checked the website of the Ruhr-Congress. If you go to "Der RuhrCongress" and then click on "3D-Rundumblick" you can see pictures of the inside of the venue - and row 1 of the Tribüne is just row 9 = behind the 8 Parkett-rows, but with the advantage of having an aisle in front. Good for something like the Britney-part.., and good to run to the front..!

So - if there is anybody, who wants to buy my 3 spare tickets Tribüne Mitte, Reihe 1, Platz 12, 13 and 14, then please let me know.

Ticket-prize: 74 Euros. That's what is written on the tickets - even if I paid also eventim fee and postage.
I know, nobody else can be as daft as I was that morning - and I still can't explain it. All the stress, and that 1 day before getting 40 years old...!!!!!! I felt like 80 that day after I got to know what I had done..!!!! And I don't want to know how many additional grey hairs I got!!!!
