Little journalist Thomas (14 years old)

Most of the time life is really hard with 2 teenagers in the house. My daughter Lena is 12 1/2 yrs. old and seems to think she's much older than she is - and she behaves like this...., my son Thomas is 14 1/2 yrs. old and believes, he's very, very cool - and whatever I say seems to be wrong in his opinion!!!! However some days ago he managed to surprise me!! At school they talk about newspaper articles during their German-lessons at the moment. In our local newspaper there's a rubric named "ZEUS - Zeitung und Schule" (=newspaper and school), where pupils or schoolclasses write articles. And so the pupils from Thomas' class now start deciding what to write about. And what happened? - My son intends to interview his own mother! When his German-teacher asked him today, what Thomas wants to write about he told publicly in the class, that he will interview me, because I'm a fan of a certain irish singer, and I'd even travelled abroad to see his concerts....etc. The teacher asked, which singer he was talking about, and when Thomas answered "Chris de Burgh" the teacher began singing a line of "The Lady in red". I'm sure he did it in an amused way, and maybe he's one of those people, who only know this one song of CdeB. I NEVER would have expected that my son would publicly write about his mother being a CdeB-fan!!!! I was very positively surprised :-))))) Let's see how it will work, the article has to be ready in just 1 week.

Von Chris de Burgh verzaubert - Bewitched by Chris de Burgh

Music. Thomas' mother is a big supporter of the singer. About 5 times a year she visits his concerts.

All the time it's being heard - the music of Chris de Burgh. You hear each song daily. Everything began with a left over ticket for a concert of Chris de Burgh, which my mother took over from a friend, who was on holidays when the concert took place. At the beginning of the concert she was sitting rather far away and hardly could see anything.
Towards the end of the concert she went with a few other fans to the front, and there she got "bewitched" in the true sense of this word by his charisma, which gives every visitor the feeling to be welcome at the concert.
Her life changed the day after. She discovered the official website of Chris de Burgh (www.cdeb.com) and became member of the mailing-list, a kind of internet-fan-club. There she got to know a lot of new people from all over the world, and close friendships developed.
Even if she drives alone to a concert she never really is lonely, because there are always "CdeB-crazy people", which she had got to know via the internet.
During each tour she visits about 5 concerts and finally even was in Birmingham. In Liverpool she was guest at the radio-concert of the local radio station "Magic 1548", which was held in the trophy room of the FC Liverpool, where even the Champions-League-Cup is kept.
At each concert Chris calls her personally by her name when she brings him a rose to the stage. She already is planning her next concert-visits for summer 2007.
3 tickets for the front-rows are already in her possession, she has invited international guests and she intends to go on visiting Chris de Burgh's concerts in the future!

Von Chris de Burgh verzaubert
Mit persönlicher Widmung und den besten Grüßen von Chris de Burgh.
MUSIK. Thomas Mutter ist große Anhängerin des Sängers. Ungefähr fünfmal im Jahr besucht sie ein Konzert.
Ständig läuft sie rauf und runter, die Musik von Chris de Burgh. Jedes Lied hört man täglich. Alles fing an mit einem übergebliebenem Ticket für ein Konzert von Chris de Burgh an, das meine Mutter von einer Bekannten übernommen hatte, da diese im Urlaub war. Am Anfang des Konzerts saß sie zimlich weit hinten und konnte ihn kaum erkennen.
Gegen Ende des Konzerts ging sie dann mit ein paar anderen Fans nach vorne, dort wurde sie dann im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes "verzaubert" und zwar durch seine Ausstrahlung, die jedem einzelnen Zuschauer das Gefühl gibt, auf dem Konzert wilkommen zu sein.
Am Tag danach änderte sich ihr Leben. Sie entdeckte die offizielle Website von Chris de Burgh (www.Cdeb.com) und wurde Mitglied der Mailingliste, eine Art Internet-Fanclub. Dort lernte sie viele neue Leute aus aller Welt kennen, woraus sich teilweise enge Freundschaften entwickelten. Selbst wenn sie alleine auf ein Konzert geht, ist sie nicht wirklich alleine, denn es gibt immer "CdeB-Verrückte", die sie durchs Internet kennen gelernt hat.
Sie besucht pro Tour etwa fünf Konzerte und war zuletzt sogar in Birmingham. In Liverpool war sie Gast beim Radiokonzert des Lokalsenders "Magic 1548" welches im Trophäenraum des FC Liverpool stattfand, wo auch der Champions League-Pokal aufbewart wurde.
Bei jedem Konzert wird sie von Chris de Burgh persönlich mit Namen angeredet, nämlich wenn sie ihm eine Rose zur Bühne bringt. Sie plant schon ihre nächsten Konzertbesuche für den Sommer 2007.
Drei Tickets für die ersten Reihen befinden sich schon in ihrem Besitz. Außerdem hat sie schon internationale Gäste eingeladen und hat auch in Zukunft weiter vor, Konzerte von Chris de Burgh zu besuchen.
